Wowza! This challenge hit me fast! Alan and I had just started our Instagram page and exactly one week later a friend told me about ORC (The day the first weeks post was due!) and she said I should go for it.  We’ve never been one to turn down a challenge, so of course we said yes. At the time…and still currently we have been working on our sun room, turning it from an outdoor space to fully enclosed. The idea of taking on a new room, with only 7 weeks left to go felt daunting. With Alan on my team I knew it was possible. We chose the laundry room because it seemed like a smaller project then some of the other rooms on our ever-growing remodel list. So here we go, let’s roll up our sleeves and get designing.

Our laundry room was originally painted tan with golden oak cabinets. Funny enough, it was the first room we painted the week we moved in. We rushed and painted everything white; cabinets and all. We were going for clean and bright and ended with blah!

Since we started the challenge on the first Thursday that week one post was due, we had to rush to come up with a plan. Honestly, I didn’t find it hard to come up with inspiration. So many designers have created beautiful laundry spaces. I immediately came up with a plan and was able to create a mood board and sketch up a design. Don’t judge my sketches, there’s a reason we call it “Em’s chicken scratch.”  Alan does a fabulous job at being the key player in helping my vision come to life.

And boom, week one done!

Unfortunately, I do not know who designed the bench built-in.
